Cakes and Ale
Definition:
The Wiccan ritual known as Cakes and Ale is often celebrated as a way of thanking the gods for their blessings. Cakes are usually just cookies prepared in the shape of crescent moons, and the ale can be alcoholic or it can be apple cider, juice, or even water.
Simple Sabbat Cakes:
3/4 C. soft butter
2 C. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
2 C. flour
1 C. finely chopped walnuts (optional)
Cream the butter in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add the brown sugar and mix well. Add eggs, lemon juice and rind. Mix until well-blended.
Stir in flour and walnuts. Cover and refrigerate overnight. When chilled, shape dough into one-inch balls and place 3” apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.

Jade
A symbol of purity and serenity, this prized stone signifies wisdom gathered in tranquility. Associated with the heart chakra, it is supposed to increase love and nurturing. It’s a protective stone, which keeps the wearer from harm & brings harmony. Jade is also believed to bring good luck & friendship into your life.

Mentally: Jade assists in releasing negative thoughts, soothes the mind, stimulates ideas, and makes complicated ideas and tasks seem less complex so that they can be acted on immediately.
Emotionally: Jade is also known as a “dream stone”. If you place a piece of jade on your forehead it can bring insightful dreams. It also can aid in emotional release, especially if you are feeling irritable.
Spiritually: Jade is a stone that encourages you to be who you are and helps you recognize yourself as a spiritual being on a human journey. It also can awaken hidden knowledge.
Physically: As a cleansing stone, Jade aids the body’s filtration and elimination organs & is excellent for kidneys. (Individual colors have these attributes, but can also have specific ones of their own).
Healing: Jade treats the kidneys & supra-adrenal glands. It removes toxins, rebuilds cellular and skeletal systems, and heals stitches. It also works on the hips, spleen, & assists with fertility and childbirth. Jade balances fluids within the body and the water-salt/acid-alkaline ratios.
DEVILS SHOESTRING: For protection, gambling luck, employment luck, power and banishing evil. Devils Shoestring is rare, powerful and quite expensive, which is why this particular set might be a bit on the higher end in terms of pricing. But well worth it if the Devils Shoestrings powers are needed.
LAVENDER FLOWERS: For love, attaction, protection, longevity, purification, happiness, peace, sleep and chastity. Lavender has a wide array of magickal uses other than what I’ve listed here.
